Q: What is a Custom Couture Window Treatment?
A: Custom means it's not only made especially for your window--your decorator uses the principles of scale, balance, harmony, line and beauty to give a design statement to your windows. The chosen fabrics and trims are not only suitable in color and texture, they're gorgeous. Your treatment fits perfectly, is appropriate in scale and dimension, and complements your decor. Your draperies can be motorized and operated by remote control, too.
The couture aspect in design and construction means your window treatment drapes beautifully, has interlining to keep color perfect, and has hand-sewn dressmaking details to enhance the style. Your custom couture designed window fashions add richness, luxury, and a wonderful elegance to complete your gorgeous space.
Custom designed couture window treatments are not available from any big store or local seamstress.

Q: Is there a fee for coming to my home?
A: Yes. For a general design, color or space planning consultation, my fee is $90 per hour.
For a specific consultation on window & bedding fashions, my fee is $200 for two 90-minute appointments (payable at the conclusion of the first appointment). At your first appointment we determine your wants, needs, styles, and budgets. The second appointment is a shop-at-home presentation of appropriate fabrics, accessories, furniture selections, etc., along with making final decisions. A 60% down payment of the total project cost is required at the end of this appointment in order for selections to be processed.
If the selection process extends beyond the initial two appointments, Rissi Cherie Decorating reserves the right to charge $75.00 per hour for any additional selection and travel time.

Q: What if, for example, I want a consultation to solve a particular decorating problem?
A: Request my services as your Decorating Doctor, where I assess your problem(s) and offer ideas and suggestions to cure your pain and make you love your home again. This is an easy way to get great decorating advice. My fee is $90.00 per hour.

I am pleased to introduce my new service as Your Decorating Doctor. Show me your decorating problem and I
will help you fix it so you will love your home again. This is a short-term service where I come to your home for a few hours to give you suggestions and ideas for solving the problem.

Q: If I have my own fabrics, will you make my draperies, pillows, bed fashions, etc.?
A: Rissi Cherie Decorating will work with COM (customer’s own materials) if, after assessing your fabric and your design, it is determined a project that can be done to our high standards.
Rissi Cherie Decorating offers a wide choice of high quality designer fabrics and beautiful trims for window treatments, custom bedding, table skirts, pillows, or anything that requires custom sewing. We have a great selection of upholstery fabrics.

Q: What if I just want shades or blinds or shutters. Do you do that?
A: Yes. I offer the Hunter-Douglas and Graber lines. In addition, I can do specialty shapes and finishes on blinds and shutters, including arch treatments that open and close. And shades! I have a great selection of Roman shades, roller shades, natural weaves and more!

Q: Do you do the sewing?
A: No. I use a professional Window Fashions Certified, to-the-trade drapery workroom, that specializes in custom and couture draperies, valances (toppers), bed fashions, decorator pillows, etc.

Q: Do you do upholstery?
A: I arrange for your reupholster work to be done by a reputable upholsterer and I assist you in choosing the appropriate upholstery fabrics from my great selection. The workroom will do cushions and chair seats that are removable. I offer a comprehensive line of upholstery fabrics.

Q: How much do custom draperies cost?
A: Cost varies depending on your window sizes and the fabrics and designs you choose. I can work within most budgets.

Q: If I order window treatments, how long will it take to get them?
A: Custom window treatments can take from 10-16 weeks from selection to installation. All window treatments are produced by a professional workroom. All window treatments must be installed through Rissi Cherie Decorating installers. A 60% down payment is due in order to process all orders and the balance is due the day of installation. You will know the total cost of the installation when the initial project fees are quoted. Rissi Cherie Decorating is totally responsible for all measurements. Any changes made after the window treatments are produced, (that were not originally agreed upon), will be at the customer’s expense. Rissi Cherie Decorating is not responsible for your decisions on fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, dye lot variations, etc.

Q: Is your work guaranteed?
A: Yes. All materials and workmanship are guaranteed for one year from date of installation.

Q: Where did you go to school?
A: I am a graduate of Sheffield School of Interior Design, NYC. Additionally, I have taken the Window Fashions Certified Professional courses and in June 2007 achieved Expert, the highest level of certification. I am the only Window Fashions Certified Professional, Expert in North Florida.

Q: How do you charge and what types of payment are accepted.
A: Generally, I charge by the job. For example, you order custom draperies and some shutters from me. I charge you for those items, my design work charges, plus shipping charges. Then I add the installation charge. That makes the job charge. A 60% down payment is required when you sign the contract. The balance is due the day the job is completed.
I accept personal checks, cashiers checks, and cash.
